The effort to pass a small-business bill that stalled in August is gaining urgency, as small-business advocates echo President Barack Obama’s call for action on the legislation that would provide tax relief and access to Small Business Administration loans to small businesses.
“Putting money in the pockets of both consumers and small-business people so they can take advantage of the opportunities when they come along is crucial,” said Todd McCracken, president of the National Small Business Association, in an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday.

“For instance, there is a jobs bill sitting in the Senate that they are going to be taking here in just a week and a half that will free up a lot of credit for small companies at a very low cost of capital for the government.”
On Friday, after another month’s lukewarm employment numbers were released by the Department of Labor, President Barack Obama chastised Senate Republicans for using a “blockade” to stop the bill.
“We’ve also been … fighting to extend these loan enhancements with a small-business jobs bill. It’s a bill that will more than double the amount some small-business owners can borrow to grow their companies,” Obama said Friday.
“And keep in mind, it is paid for. it will not add one dime to our deficit. So, put simply, this piece of legislation is good for workers; it’s good for small-business people; it’s good for our economy. and yet, Republicans in the Senate have blocked this bill — a needless delay that has led small-business owners across this country to put off hiring, put off expanding and put off plans that will make our economy stronger,” he said.
Both Democrats and Republicans are fighting to lay claim to the right policies for small business ahead of the fall midterm elections.
Republicans say that letting the Bush administration’s tax cuts expire for the top income brackets will hurt small business, and that the small-business bill would do little to reduce uncertainty in the market and spur hiring.

I want to start a business on Ebay, but where do I get the research from? with a brick-and-mortar buisness, I get talk to other buisness owners and interview them. But, how do I research a business I want to start on Ebay. I’m trying to write a business plan for a business I want to start on Ebay. I know how much it’s projected gross profits, but how do I figure out how much start-up money I am gonna have to have? how many employees to hire. Anybody got any ideas?

You really need the book Rocket to Riches which you can get by going here: http://www.themoneycastle.com/riches.html it has a zillion ideas and budgets, etc. and what to sell online, etc.
Also, an eBay store only costs 14.95 a month. the main thing about eBay is pick a niche’ and focus. Build up your positive feedback by buying some products (even cheap ones). you really do not need any employees because with eBay you can automate everything – even your replies. you will need a PayPal premier business account. and it has lots of merchant and auction tools for free.
Hope this helps and hasn’t been too confusing. A good place for research is actually your local library. They have tons of eBay business books and software.
